The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the team reportedly

The 31-year-old Pitts is rehabbing from microfracture knee surgery that forced him to miss most of the 2009 season. The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the team reportedly interested in Pitts. He played for current Seahawks offensive line coach Alex Gibbs while in Houston, so he's familiar with Seattle's zone blocking scheme.

Other teams reportedly interested in Pitts include Minnesota, San Francisco, Detroit and Philadelphia. Pitts had earlier indicated that the Seahawks were the frontrunners for his services.

Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network wonders if five teams are really interested in Terrell Owens' services, as his agent Drew Rosenhaus says.

More Lombardi: He says the Seahawks are a draft away from being a contender.

Dan Pompei of the National Football Post says three scouts he talked to had RB Aaron Curry Harvey Unga ranked as a third-round talent. Pompei said that Unga would have been the eighth running back selected in this year's regular draft in April.

The NFL suspended new Seattle Seahawks jerseys linebacker Leroy Hill without pay for the first game of the 2010 regular season and fined him an additional game check for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Hill will be eligible to return to the Seahawks' active roster Sept. 13 after the team's Sept. 12 game against San Francisco.

Hill is serving 12 months of probation after a marijuana charge in Georgia in April. He was Matt Hasselbeck  arrested in Issaquah later in April on suspicion of domestic abuse. The team earlier asked him to stay away from offseason practices before he was allowed to return June 14.

"I was there (as an assistant coach) when he showed up with the 49ers. … I really like him."

He may like him, but there's just not room for T.O. on this year's Seahawks Deion Branch roster. Carroll plans to utilize the guys he already has.

"We're going to continue to work with the guys we've got," Carroll said. "I think our situation is OK with where we are."
